A New Camera Calibration Technique for Serious Distortion

A new camera calibration technique based on serious distortion is proposed, which only requires the to observe plane pattern in an arbitrary azimuth. It uses geometrical imaging principle and radial model acquire lens coefficient image coordinate (u0, v0), then solves linear equation aiming at other parameters of camera. This method has following characteristics: Firstly, position arbitrary, needs a single observation for pattern. Secondly, it suitable with distortion. Thirdly, does not need expensive ancillary equipment, accurate movement, or lots photos observed from different orientations. Having been authenticated by computer emulation actual experiment, results proposed have proved be satisfactory. The research also paved way further studies.
